Follow Friday #48

This is a meme hosted every Friday by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read, where book bloggers answer a question each week and check out how others answered it. It's a cool way for bloggers and viewers to connect and learn more about each other!

This week's question: Are you also a writer and what genre or did you ever consider writing?
Answer: Yes, I am a writer! I'm actually writing a Paranormal New Adult book right now based on Irish Celtic mythology. It's a struggle because this will be the first book I've completed (I've written 100 pages then given up when the plot just went haywire before), but I'm excited to finish this one and query it and see what happens. I'm not expecting it to get published since it'll be my first complete work, but I'm still going to try. I love writing, and the research that goes along with it, so I'm content just to create things that matter to me, whether they get published or not.

Do we have any other writers out there? If so, what genre(s) are you writing/planning to write?

  1. I think Irish Celtic mythology is so cool. And I am really loving reading NA right now so this is a book I would be totally interested in reading. Hope you finish it soon!

  2. Oh the book you're working on sounds great. Congratulations on making it so far! I'm an aspiring writer - I wrote 50,000 words of a novel for NaNoWriMo last November and then kind of hit a wall and put it aside. I've actually just started making some notes for a new book idea and I'm really excited about that one so hopefully that will be the one that I finish and try to query!

  3. Interesting, are you Irish? Actually dont know a ton about Irish myth, I think there was a book that I was interested in set in Ireland, but it was basically a carbon copy of Twilight, just set in Ireland.

Always looking for new cultures and lore though =)

  7. I write paranormal too (except I write more MG and YA)! I remember when I finished my first book--it really does feel liberating (because I have the same problem of starting something and then just stopping)! Good luck with your book!

I hope you'll check out my post (even though it's a bit late)! :)
