Follow Friday #50

This is a meme hosted every Friday by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read, where book bloggers answer a question each week and check out how others answered it. It's a cool way for bloggers and viewers to connect and learn more about each other!

This week's question:

3 FAVORITE BOOK BOYFRIENDS, BOOKS THEY’RE IN, AND WHY YOU’LL ALWAYS LOVE THEM.

1. Clayton Danvers from Kelley Armstrong's Otherworld Series - He was my first true literary love of my adult life, and I still adore him. He's a fantastically complex character: smart, strong, tortured, loyal, loving, devoted, and of course, hot. The changing into a werewolf thing when times get tough doesn't hurt things either. He'd always keep a girl safe.

2. Bones from Jeaniene Frost's Night Huntress Series - Bones is hot, British, and a badass vampire. He has tons of... ahem... experience, so things would be interesting, and he's a master vampire with his own line of vampires. Also, he can fly, which could make for some really fun dates. Did I mention he's British?

3. Warner from the Shatter Me Series by Tahereh Mafi - Talk about misunderstood, poor Warner had a horrific childhood and had to act like a monster just to stay alive. However, when he loves, he loves hard, and he's not really a psychopath. He just needs someone who can accept him for who he really is, not who his terrible father made him out to be. He may not be the best at expressing interest in females, since he tends to come across more stalkerish and like a kidnapper, but he would do anything in the world for those he loves. He also is willing to do the awful, terrible, difficult things to protect others. This guy really tugged at my heartstrings, and while I think we'd need a lot of couple's therapy, he'd totally be worth the effort.

This week's question:
Share the song you can’t stop listening to.via Journey Through Fiction

Skinny Lister is one of the best live bands I've ever seen (and I've been to over 500 shows in my day). They're amazing and talented and super sweet to everyone they meet. If you want to have the time of your life, go to one of their shows.

This week's question: Are you also a writer and what genre or did you ever consider writing?
Answer: Yes, I am a writer! I'm actually writing a Paranormal New Adult book right now based on Irish Celtic mythology. It's a struggle because this will be the first book I've completed (I've written 100 pages then given up when the plot just went haywire before), but I'm excited to finish this one and query it and see what happens. I'm not expecting it to get published since it'll be my first complete work, but I'm still going to try. I love writing, and the research that goes along with it, so I'm content just to create things that matter to me, whether they get published or not.

Do we have any other writers out there? If so, what genre(s) are you writing/planning to write?

This weeks Question:
What book/series do you think would make a better TV show than a movie?
Answer: Patricia Briggs' Mercy Thompson series. That'd make an amazing TV show.

This week's question: If you had a time machine (i.e. a TARDIS), where would you go?
My Answer: Let me just start of by saying that I ADORE this week's question! As a Doctor Who fan and history nerd, this is one of the best questions I could be asked. There are SO MANY time periods that I'd like to visit, just to experience for myself what life was like then, and so many events that deserve to be witnessed by people who can fully appreciate them in a way that they can't be appreciated when they're being lived. Some of the main events I would like to see include The Easter Rising of 1918 in Dublin, Ireland; the start of the American Revolution in April of 1776 in Lexington, Massachusetts; The Battle of Little Bighorn (Custer's Last Stand) in Montana in June of 1876; and the beginning of the French Revolution in Paris, France, in 1789, to name a few. I would love to see these acts of bravery because these people were willing to die for their freedom, and that is a beautiful thing. The Easter Rising in Dublin was not successful in and of itself, but it inspired the Irish to fight to end British oppression, and Ireland finally became a sovereign nation. The American Revolution is an inspiration in and of itself because it bridged classes and joined all people together to fight for the freedom that we enjoy today. Custer's Last Stand show that the Lakota, Arapahoe, and Cheyenne were willing to fight, even when it seemed like a lost cause, to keep their people free and combat genocide. The French Revolution shows that the unrepresented masses can change the world, too, if they're willing to fight.
There are also time periods, places, and people I would love to visit, including the Ancient Celts (I would really love to witness the Wailing Stone at the Hill of Tara choosing the High King of Ireland), the reign of Henry VIII, the reign of Bloody Mary, the reign of Elizabeth I (Basically the entire Tudor Dynasty, haha), Viking Dublin, Louis XIV's reign, and Glendalough when it was a thriving monastic city, to name a few.
Okay, that was a super long answer. Sorry about that. I got excited. What time period would you like to visit if you had a TARDIS?

Please state in the post if you're a new follower or old follower. If you don't tell me that you are following, then I don't know that you are. Therefore, I'll not follow you back. I would like to follow each and every one of you back, so it is important that you clearly state that you are following me and not just stopping by. When someone says, "just saying hi!" or "just hopping through!" then I have no idea if you are following or not. That means that I may or may not return the visit, depending on how much time I have. The people who state they are following me will definitely get a visit and follow back. Also be sure to leave a link back to your blog, otherwise I won't know where to go to follow you! Thank you.

Since I don't do vlogs (no one wants to see me without make up and at a bad camera angle with awful lighting), I'm skipping this week's question. Sorry, haha.

Q: What book are you embarrassed to admit you LOVED? (try to think beyond Twilight).
A: I'm generally not embarrassed to admit that I love anything. I can't think of a single book that I'm embarrassed to like. I didn't like Twilight, so I can't even pick that one. I guess the Hush, Hush series because I'm generally not one for all encompassing love, no matter what, but I actually enjoyed that story.

What about you? What book are you embarrassed to like?
